The Alaska Section, American Water Resources Association, is pleased to announce its intent to award a scholarship for graduate-level research in the area of water-resources in Alaska. A scholarship of up to $2500 will be awarded on a competitive basis upon evaluation of research proposals submitted by current graduate students. Applicants must be enrolled at least part time (6 credits minimum) in a graduate study program at any accredited Alaskan university or college and carry a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or better. Applicant's full-time or part-time status will be considered during the review process. 2006 "Glacier dammed Lakes of Alaska-Changes over Time" - David Wolfe
The Awards and Grants Committee, on the basis of the following weighted criteria, will evaluate proposals received by the application deadline:
To be given full consideration for the 2012 awards, and to allow for the presentation at the 2012 Alaska Section Annual Meeting, the education committee chair must receive papers by February 1st, 2012. Papers received after this date may not be considered for the 2012 competition. |
