New Jersey Section AWRA Stream Restoration Committee

Stream Restoration Committee

Jennifer Brunton - Chair

The goals of the workgroup will focus on information exchange and networking among stream restoration professionals in New Jersey. Potential projects for the workgroup include:

  • Information exchange regarding stream restoration in New Jersey, such as reference reach information and restoration techniques appropriate for NJ landscapes.

  • Improving project implementation resources for volunteers and experts.

  • Gap analysis of information needs for improved stream restoration success - regional curves for NJ streams, recognizing conditions where bioengineering is most successful, when to use natural channel design, when to use 'hard' engineering, working in urban areas, best solutions for incised stream channels, etc.

  • Dissemination of information developed by the group via website, seminars, workshops, field trips, and newsletters.
