Student Chapter Updates
Penn State Student Chapter
The Penn State Student Chapter of the AWRA is working on several small
projects this fall. Our primary efforts are focused on helping to organize a student poster
session, which will be held during the Pennsylvania State Section AWRA Conference on October
20, 2006. The poster session gives students the opportunity to present the results of water
resources related work to a targeted audience of water resources professionals. One added benefit
is that prizes are typically awarded.
In addition to the poster session, the student chapter is also planning to host a guest speaker or two. We are working with the Pennsylvania Water Resources Research Center to schedule a visit from Dr. Elizabeth Boyer, an Assistant Professor of Ecohydrology at the University of California, Berkeley.
